Creativity Camps

Host a Camp

You supply the space and 8 to 20 students, and Mel Ludington supplies the camp including costumes, theater games, writing activities, theme related crafts, additional teachers if necessary and a final performance highlighting the students' work. The host individual or organization determines whether the camp is open for general admission or is to be limited to a specific group (i.e. the local Girl Scout troupe or youth group.)

Camps can be structured to explore specific themes (family or strength) or works of youth fiction (English Roses Series or traditional folktales). Mel's “Magical School” camp which is inspired by the magical boarding schools in the Harry Potter series, the Lightning Thief Series, the Charlie Bone Series and musical Wicked is currently her most popular camp.

Rates

Most camps run between 5 and 25 hours. The cost is typically $15 per child per contact hour. For example, a two day camp that runs 2 ½ hours each day would cost $75 per student. (This does not include rental space costs as this is the responsibility of the host.)

I really liked 3 minute scenes, group stories, and vampire stories because it was fun to write in strange, fun stuff, then act it out.

“We were free to be totally creative and make the scenes as weird as we wanted.”
